“Educating and Innovating.”

Kansas City has a rich tradition of musician mentorship in which the elder and seasoned musicians pass down their knowledge and skills gained through experience and rigorous practice, down to the up-and-coming musicians. This dynamic is further expanded by the mentee taking that acquired knowledge and adding to it, thereby creating new styles and trends.

This has been the case for the last 105 years of the Mutual Musicians Foundation’s history. In keeping with that tradition, our elders and younger musicians are in constant collaboration, both teaching and learning from each other. Respecting the paths that have been paved, while creating new lanes.
