MMF Members, Desmond Mason, AvaBella, & James D. Conqueror all nominated for Kansas City Music Awards - Awards Show Sat April 29th

This Saturday, the 3rd Annual Kansas City Music Awards returns! We're so proud to announce some of our very own MMF members are nominated for Kansas City Music Awards.

 

 

Saturday, April 29th, 2017, the 3rd Annual Kansas City Music Awards takes place at new Kansas City nightlife destination, Prohibition Hall in Downtown Kansas City, MO.

 

It's reported that there were a total of nearly 50,000 votes for the various genres and categories!

The nominees are...

 

 

Known to all as D. Professor, musician Desmond Mason is nominated for the coveted Kansas City Producer's Award. Most Fridays and Saturdays you can find Desmond right at the piano during the Historic Late Night Jam Session here at 1823!

 

In recent years, he's been known for adding producer to his repertoire of talents creating the music as CEO of OutDPark Productions, LLC  and as the producer with Soul Revival.

Impresario, James D. Conqueror is nominated for numerous Kansas City Music awards categories for both his contributions as an artist and entrepreneur. As CEO of Vine Street Records, his imprint, he's added a third studio project to his Nouveau Noir Series, with Nouveau Noir Opus I. He is currently working on the fourth in the series. His genre, Blazz Hop (Blues, Jazz, & Hip Hop), is said to have redefined the sound of Kansas City Hip Hop.

 

His initial release of the series, Baptism: Holy Water (released Nov. 2014), "evokes the spirit of all the was, is, and forever shall be the sound of Kansas City". Conception: The Demo (released Feb. 2016) followed with "a fresh perspective of a city celebrating the Mutual Musicians Foundation's centennial". When he's not touring or producing festivals and concerts nationally, on weekdays you'll find James wearing the GM hat as the Programming Director of the Historic Mutual Musicians Foundation's newest edition, KOJH 104.7 FM.

Vocalist and songwriter, AvaBella, is also nominated in numerous categories including KC Entrepreneur, Female Vocalist, Queen of KC, and others. 

 

She keeps busy with her how-to blog for Indie Artists, as the Founder of a boutique PR, Marketing, and Branding company Assilem Media, LLC, and acting. Just before the new year AvaBella scored a supporting role in Dreamgirls with the Black Repertory Theater of Kansas City and also toured nationally during the holiday season.

 

Ava's most recent release, Blue Sunday, suggests a new sound, while Warrior Love Letter, shares a her personal love letter to Black men far and wide. Follow AvaBella on Facebook for show times, tour dates, and announcements.
